Acne-prone skin? I feel you! Since my teenage years, I have struggled with acne. I've tried harsh alcohols, aggressive scrubs, and even resorted to tanning beds as a last-resort to help my skin. While I'm not a skincare professional, I am happy to pass along the knowledge and products I've found that now consistently give me healthy, blemish-free skin. Your images will get professionally retouched, and my stylist is a rockstar...but who doesn't want beautiful skin to start with?! 3-Step Morning Skincare Routine1. Wash your face using a salicylic acid face wash, which will clean your skin and actually help prevent it from becoming oily throughout the day. Save the salicylic creams and lotions for "spot treatments", which can be super drying. My holy grail favorite is Clear Complexion Cleanser from Boscia, but a good drugstore option is CereVe SA Cleanser. 2. Moisturize with a gel moisturizer, opposed to a heavy cream. I use the Biossance Squalene + Probiotic Gel, which soaks in quickly with a matte finish. A great drugstore option is Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel. 3. Use an eye cream. OK, this isn't an acne-tip, but since we are avoiding heavy, creamy moisturizers, the delicate area around your eyes will thank you for the extra TLC. My all-time favorite is Peter Thomas Roth Vital-E . It's like whipped butter and is super hydrating. A great drugstore alternative is Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Gel Eye Cream. 3-Step Nightly Skincare Routine1. Wash your face using a charcoal face wash, like this. Charcoal is gentle and very good at removing oil/dirt/makeup that may have built up over the day. 2. Use your eye cream. They'll thank you. 3. Use an AHA (glycolic acid) moisturizer like my favorite, Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Night Serum. A popular drugstore option is Paula's Choice AHA 8%. Glycolic acid gently exfoliates the dead skin on the surface, unclogging pores and revealing fresher, more even skin. Do NOT• Pop, squeeze, or pick pimples
• Sunburn • Use hair or face products with coconut oil or other comedogenic ingredients • Rub and scrub with an aggressive exfoliant • Use products that have unnecessary fragrances • Sleep in your makeup • Stress- breathe deeply and know that even if you have the worst skin-day ever, my team is the very best and will make you look absolutely incredible, no matter what.
